Arrival and Visa Application

Malawi has two international airports, Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, and Chileka International Airport in Blantyre. Kamuzu International Airport is the recommended port of entry as the conference will take place in Lilongwe.

The airlines in Malawi which operate daily include Malawi Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, and Kenya Airlines. Airlink also operates between Malawi and Johannesburg on specific days of the week. Ethiopian Airlines boasts the highest number of departures, and the second largest operator is Kenya Airways.

All visitors to Malawi must hold passports valid for at least 90 days from the date of departure and from their initial point of embarkation. The passport holders of the list of countries below may come into Malawi without visa.
All other participants are encouraged to apply for a single-entry visa in advance by making an online application through www.evisa.gov.mw.

Where participants have failed to obtain an e-visa, or their countries are not on the list for e-visas, the Government of Malawi may assist in arranging for visas on arrival.
